Chiranjeevi’s birth day is on August 22. Silpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad is going to be the venue for the fete. Celebrations this year are going to be special, as Chiranjeevi has just become member of the Congress party. Every year, fans of the star celebrate his birth day not only in the state, but in several other areas. Now arrangements are afoot to celebrate the Mega Star’s birth day at Silpa Kala Vedika on a grand scale.

Ram Charan Tej, Nagababu, Allu Aravind and several other prominent persons are expected to participate in the celebrations. If Chiranjeevi is busy at New Delhi, Charan and Naga Babu would organize the celebrations here. Kollywood's loss is Tollywood's gain! Remember the film that Vikram was supposed to do with director Boopathi Pandian? Well, the latest buzz is that the director has taken the script to Tollywood and is all set to make it into a film with Gopichand in the lead.

A source informs, "Initially, Vikram and Boopathi Pandian were supposed to come together for an action entertainer. The film, which was supposed to have Ileana in the lead, had already been titled and was touted to go on floors last year. But, the project faced several hiccups and finally, had to be shelved because of creative differences between the actor and the director. Recently, Boopathi narrated the script to Telugu actor Gopichand, who was mighty impressed with it. Boopathi has also approached Tamannaah to play the female lead."

Rebel in trouble?

Prabhas wants to make some changes to his next release Rebel.

As he tasted big success with Mr.Perfect and won praise from all kinds of audiences, both family and youth, he doesn't want to do an out and out mass masala film at this juncture.

Prabhas signed Rebel under the direction of Raghavendra Lawrence couple of months ago and the film was to start its shoot last month.

Due to the strike in the film industry it got delayed and now with the super success of Mr.Perfect, Prabhas is rethinking of doing this movie, sources informed us.

He reportedly is not happy with the script and he told this to the director. He also suggested some changes in the script. If the film has to go to the sets, Lawrence should come up with a modified script.

Prabhas himself is telling everyone these days that Dil Raju and director Dasaradh have successfully implemented the changes that he suggested in the script of Mr.Perfect and those changes are instrumental in the success of the movie.

So, Prabhas expects the same from Lawrence. Will Lawrence, who is going through rough patch to save his flagging career, do the necessary?

Mallika welcomes Indians at Cannes

Actress Mallika Sherawat has expressed happiness at seeing more Indian faces at international film events like the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Before leaving for Cannes, Sherawat told media here: "I think it is great that more and more Bollywood actresses are going to Cannes and representing India. More power to all the actresses in Bollywood."

Besides Sherawat, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has starred in films like 'Bride and Prejudice', 'Pink Panther 2', and 'Mistress of Spices' has also been the face of Bollywood films at Cannes since many years.

Bollywood celebrities like actresses Sonam Kapoor, Minissha Lamba, Rani Mukherjee, actor Saif Ali Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar are also attending the festival this year.

It is Sherawat's third visit to Cannes Film Festival, where the cast and crew of her film, 'Politics of Love', would join her.

She looked thrilled about her film's screening at the festival.

"I think after Cannes, the Oscars, President Barack Obama and now going to Cannes, it is the third step. I am keeping my fingers crossed; wish me luck," said Sherawat.

'Politics of Love' also stars Loretta Devine and Brien J. White, and is a romantic comedy spun around U.S. President Barack Obama's election campaign.

The actress, known for her flamboyant roles in Bollywood flicks, has earlier made appearances at Cannes for her English-Hindi crossover films, 'Hiss' and 'The Myth', opposite Hollywood star Jackie Chan.

Rajini advised two more days in ICU

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's condition is stable, but he has been advised two more days in the ICU, hospital sources said here today.

The 60-year-old, who is suffering from allergic bronchitis and fever due to exhaustion, was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of St. Isabel Hospital on Wednesday night.

"His condition is stable, but he will be required to stay at least two more days in the hospital, and a decision about his discharge will be taken only thereafter," the hospital source said.

The south superstar has been hospitalised for the second time in a week. He was admitted to the ICU of the hospital after a bout of vomiting on 29th April, but was discharged in the evening.
