Rajini advised two more days in ICU

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's condition is stable, but he has been advised two more days in the ICU, hospital sources said here today.

The 60-year-old, who is suffering from allergic bronchitis and fever due to exhaustion, was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of St. Isabel Hospital on Wednesday night.

"His condition is stable, but he will be required to stay at least two more days in the hospital, and a decision about his discharge will be taken only thereafter," the hospital source said.

The south superstar has been hospitalised for the second time in a week. He was admitted to the ICU of the hospital after a bout of vomiting on 29th April, but was discharged in the evening.

RANA movie story details

Superstar Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone kickstarted the shooting of Rana at the AVM studios in Chennai this morning.

The film is a trilingual and is being made in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Rajinikanth is all set to essay three roles in the movie and rumour is that there will be three heroines.

Hot Tollywood actress Ileana is also starring in the movie and Dabangg actor Sonu Sood is playing the bad guy in the film. AR Rahman is scoring the music for the film while Rathanvel is handling cinematography.

Superstar Rajinikanth is working once again with one of the directors with whom he has had some blockbusters – Muthu and Padayappa - K S Ravikumar. Expectations from this film are quite high after the stupendous global success of Enthiran.

Incidentally, Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya is also part of this project. Rana is a joint production between her production house, Ocher, and Eros International.

Rajnikanth hospitalised

Tamil superstar Rajnikanth, whose new film was launched today, was hospitalised here this afternoon after he complained of breathing trouble.

The superstar, who took part in the first day's shooting of his new venture "Rana", suffered breathing problem and was rushed to Isabells Hospital in the city, sources said.

However, his condition stated to be stable, sources said.

After visiting her husband at the hospital Rajnikanth's wife told newspersons that the superstar was fine and there was nothing to worry.

She said Rajnikanth had a minor stomach infection after he ate something at the pooja held for his new film "Rana" at the studios here.

Following this, he started vomiting and was admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure, she said. "There is nothing to worry. He is fine and in the safe hands of the doctors", she said and appealed to media not to sensationlise it, and his fans not to panic.

She said "we are also like any other citizen. Jus as you visit a doctor in the event of any illness, we have also come to the hospital," she said.
